Aogvip desert (Aaogvip)

Geography

The Aogvip desert is Eploaili's only desert region, but it makes up for it in sheer size, acting as one of the larger geographical features. Living up to its name as the sea of sand, Aogvip is a vast expanse of sand in the continents northwestern region. It is home to few minor oases, and a major one named Oonwyg. On its southern border is the Qeohd forest, and to the north lies, The Dvyqe, Eploaili's only ocean.

Ecosystem

Due to it being a desert, there are few places for natural life to survive without magical interference. However, the few creatures that can survive have learned to feed of of the regions natural heat magics.

Ecosystem Cycles

The ecosystem it constant due to the lack of cyclical changes in climate via seasons.

Localized Phenomena

A localized phenomenon is the minor wellspring that resides at the western border of desert, which supplies the nearby area with a natural boost to heat magic.

Fauna & Flora

The biggest flora species is Tripier trees, similar to the cactus, and survive off of the suns rays rather than water. These trees produce a sweet kind of fruit all year round, but are only ripe at night. The biggest fauna there is Quethir snakes, which can become invisible, but are rather harmless, and taste similar to chicken, buy are rare due to their natural defense.

Natural Resources

The biggest natural resources for this region is light magic and sand, which lead to their biggest imports of said light magic glass products. Other resources include Tripeir fruits and Quethir snake meat.

History

Thousands of years ago, when the Great Wellspring created life on the continent,, the people searched far and wide for other sources of magic. During that time, most people stayed away from the desert, but one party of trackers managed to find a route around the Qeohd forest to find the Orange Wellspring. As soon as word got back to the capital,  droves of people went to the wellspring, hoping that the could gain special access to the natural magic within it.

Tourism

While there are few settlements within the desert, the biggest of them is Tevail. A bustling city in a similar style to an old western town, it is the largest spot for tourists. The second spot would be Oonwyg, with it being the largest oasis.
