Grandson to the previous duke of Rivenlock, Thomas had a rough upbringing due to his family's falling position in society. His grandfather had embezzled a large sum of money and then was forced to flee from Alteria. The treasure was never found and so Thomas made it his life's mission to find the stolen gold and return it so as to reclaim his family's honor. He tasked Bosh, Ka'uhane, and Knuckles McGruff with finding the gold and offered them what help he could. When the gold was found he was given a small finder's fee and much of his honor was restored.
