A calendar created by the Vestonian Magaocracy. It is comprised of 13 months and 30 days in each month for a total of 370 days per year. Unlike other solar or lunar calendars this one was created by mages and has its basis it mathematical and arcane calculations as they attempted to align their sense of time with that of the universe. It follows the time it takes for the world to pass around its sun. Because of its accuracy it has become the defacto calendar for much of the world. Many farmers and other people outside of major cities still use either their own calendars or ones marked by the passing of the seasons or the moons. When it was created an extra days were left and a new month was created for these ten days. During these ten days local superstition believes that the physical world and other planes are at their closest and things can interact with other planes more easily.
The 13 Months and the Four Seasons
Flower's Bloom
The season of spring. While the early months of Ortus and Satus can be chilly they mark the beginning of the planting seasons for farmers. This season marks the rebirth of many creatures and organisms. Ortus marks the beginning of the year and the first of Ortus is celebrated the world over as New Years Day.

Harvestleaves
The season of autumn. The months of Ceres, Algus, and Frigus mark the harvest times of the year and the weather begins to get colder. By the month of Frigus most people are preparing themselves for the long harsh winter months. Algus and Frigus are a time of trade and feasts as people reep the bounty of their crops.

The Long Night
The final set of ten days in the calendar is not a season but rather a time of superstition and festivals that bring in the new year. The first day of Sidus begins with a celebration of the Long Night. Later festivals and ceremonies include Frostburn, Hellsbane, and finally, Exauguro's Eve. Following this the next day is the new year and begins again with Ortus.
