Gad Steelmane

Gad Steelmane is the Fourth Curse of Fengorath, and a God of Conquest.   In life, Gad was a fierce and powerful warrior and legendary hero of great renown, who founded the Steelmane Guild in Arden. He took the name Steelmane after defeating the demon lord Yeenoghu, and wearing their pelt around his collar. However, unknown to Gad, the pelt was cursed with dark magiks which slowly began to corrupt him. The more he wore it, the more he began to succumb to his own dark impulses. No longer able or willing to control his desire for battle and conquest, Gad turned against the kingdom, and with the backing of loyalist from his guild claimed the throne as his own.   Dissatisfied with conquering the kingdom, Gad began a long and bloody campaign to conquer the whole world. No other mortal had slain as many enemies before, and entire nations were wiped out by his hands. During this time, He began to refer to himself only as the "Lion." On the day that he was finally defeated at the hands of his own son, his soul was carried to Ixiole, where he was sentenced to suffer for eternity.   When he came to the gates of Ixiole, there he was met by every enemy he had slain in life, awaiting for the vengence. But as he came he fought and slaughtered them all once more, and then moved to conquer all of Ixiole. Then he had forged for him his greatsword of blackened steel, and he wielded the sword as he conquered the land of the dead. Ulderic, he who was charged with governing Ixiole, went to his father Fengorath and told him of the Lion's wrath, fearing that the Lion would truly conquer the realm from him. Fengorath, however, cursed his son for his cowardice, and instead of thwarting the Lion he made him into his champion.   Fengorath granted the Lion a second life into the mortal world, so that he could harvest more souls for his domain. The Lion was given unnatural strength and long life, so that not only his skill as a warlord left him unmatched, but his skill in combat as well.   The Lion of Ixiole reigned in the mortal world until the sons of Feradíl defeated him and banished his soul back to the Realm of the Dead.
