The Imprisonment of Hrym

Odin All-Father, the wisest of the gods, sought the knowledge of all things. During his hunt for knowledge he was gifted many great secrets of the past and future. Among them was the future of the twilight of the gods, the end of all things, Ragnarok. Filled with the knowledge of the future, Odin was not content to wait for the end and instead strove with all his power to prevent the end of the universe he had created.
One of the portents the Norn foretold was that of Hrym, striding forth from the East, Shield held high. Striding fort and into Jotenheim to the great ship Naglfar, where he would set sail with the armies of Jotenheim, leading them across the Bifrost with Loki to fight the Aesir at Ragnarok. Odin unwilling to allow this future to occur, summoned his son Thor, mightiest of the Aesir with his hammer Mjolnir and bid him to find Hrym and imprison him.
Thor searched the 9 worlds for Hrym, but found him nowhere, hidden. For more than a year mighty Thor searched among the worlds for his foe. After a year long hunt, Thor finally found his foe, tracking him to the Odin-Jeweled world of Enga. Thor attacked the giant, and the two fought like no two beings had fought before. The two were evenly matched for a time, and no matter what Thor did, he could not seem to best Hrym.
Hrym, champion of Thrym, fought like a blizzard. He knew that he could not stand alone against Thor, and try as he might, could find no way around Thor’s defenses.
The two fought through valleys and across mountain ranges; up and down the length of the longest rivers and across the endless depths of the oceans, but Thor was evenly matched. As they fought on though, Hrym started to slow. The length of the fight was wearing on the giant and Thor had only to outlast him to best his opponent. On they fought for 7 days and 7 nights until at the end of a week of fighting, Hrym fell to his knees, dropping sword and shield, and surrendered to Thor.
Thor bound the giant in chains forged by Hreidmar, the King of Nidavellir and took the defeated giant to a fortress built deep in the mountains, a fortress city built by the Dvergr. The Dverger wound the chains of the giant through the earth and secured them to the four corners of the world, binding mighty Hrym forever. Bound such, Thor sealed the giant in the tomb at the center of the fortress, alone forever.
Before the tomb was fully sealed, Hrym swore vengeance on the Aesir. Vengeance and destruction during the final days at Ragnarok.
