Thalanthian

The amphibious thalantians are the true inheritors of the archipelago nation of Thalanthos. They are well known for being thrill-seeking seafarers that make deft work of troublemakers with their javelins, harpoons, and mighty tridents. Though they are usually present around all coasts of Endre, the thalanthians are rarely seen inland anywhere but Thalanthos. Bonded are slightly more common amongst the merfolk, as they share a strong tie to the sea, making it understandable that bonding the Thalanthos’ Hydor element is easier than forming a bond with the elusive and deadly Lightning element.

Basic Information

Anatomy

There are many variations of thalanthian throughout Endre. Those that live in the frigid waters to the north often have muted colorings of black, gray, and white and have thicker bodies to resist the cold. While those that live in the waters around Thalanthos or in the strait between Endre and Akra often have colorful, slender bodies. They are amphibious, with a powerful set of gills, have webbed fingers and toes, and a double set of eyelids that allow them to see in the deepest, darkest waters.
