Rune of the Bifröst

Tales of the Bifröst are found in the oldest of tomes scribed by the raven goddesses themselves. It is described as a shimmering path that glows with all the colors of the rainbow; its reach was far and could transport its travelers to the far reaches of the world, or worlds, should they wish. Those that choose to take on its rune are granted a small semblance of its power, gaining the power to travel through their bond with Elding. Without the ancient magics of the Bifröst to protect the bonded, traveling a great distance can be dangerous, however.

Benefits:

  • 9th: Elding Path, Teleportation Spells
  • 13th: Enervated Speed
  • 17th: Shatter the Bridge

Features

Risks of the Elding Travel

The Bifröst was not just magical in nature, it was advanced beyond any algorithm or science yet known to the world. Travel using the Elding is a harsh journey, causing all who travel along it to take 1d6 Elding damage per 100 ft. traveled. For more experienced bonded, this is hardly a tickle, but should they try to take friends along it could be a fatal journey.

Elding Path

At 9th level, a bonded with the Rune of the Bifrost may choose to sacrifice a spell slot in order to teleport a distance of up to 60 ft. per the level of the spell sacrificed (as Dimension Leap, Magic of Eberron, ).

Teleportation Spells (Ex)

At 9th level, a bonded with the Rune of the Bifrost is able to learn any teleportation spell, so long as they have the appropriate level spell slots available.

This is the only way in the Endre Campaign Setting to gain access to teleportation.

Enervated Speed (Su)

At 13th level, a bonded with the Rune of the Bifrost has become permanently enhanced by the Elding coursing through his body. He gains a +2 bonus on attack rolls, a +2 dodge bonus to AC and Reflex saves, a +20 ft. enhancement bonuses to all of his modes of movement, and deals an extra 2d6 points of damage in rounds where he has moved at least 10 feet.

Shatter the Bridge (Su)

At 17th level, a bonded with Rune of the Bifrost learns perhaps the harshest lesson history has to offer. Shatter the bridge, also called Tidings of Ragnarok, allows the bonded to call down primal Eld, a primal form of Elding, from the sky upon himself. When Shatter the Bridge is used, the bonded sacrifices all of his remaining spell slots, causing Eld to strike him from on high. This does 1d12 Eld damage per level of each spell sacrificed this way, dealing damage in a 50 ft. radius to all creatures. In most cases, this kills the bonded who called the Tidings of Ragnarok upon himself, but it is almost always used to slay many enemies in the name of a noble cause. Any Hrafi who dies calling the Eld upon himself to slay his foes is revered for eternity by his brothers and sisters in arms.
