The Bitesalt Beach

Geography

The Bitesalt Beach is a desert spanning the entire western coast of Ense made of a grainy white material with anomalous properties. It is mostly flat with a few dunes and a small quantity of mountains. People avoid it at all costs, with only 1 town being built in it, due to it spanning the entire western coast, and without some outpost out there, Ense would have zero access to the ocean. It does not contain any natural beauty, only beauty from the myriad of Ancient ruins in the beach.

Fauna & Flora

The Bitesalt Beach is one of the harshest environments known to man or machine, and it is unknown if the material that makes up the entirety of the beach is an organism or if it is purely environmental. It does contain a few varieties of cactus that seem to be a distant relative of rockbarks, incorporating rocky growths near its base in order to grow through the bitesalt. The most well known of these is a cactus known as a Deadman, a plant that usually grows in a shape vaguely resembling a humanoid, and producing fruits that let out loud hissing. Many villagers who have seen these in the distance confuse them for screaming humans.

Natural Resources

If the whole of Endais is a god-forsaken wasteland, then the Bitesalt Beach is hell itself. It is well known for its bitesalt, a strange material that seems to violently and painfully consume organic material. Bitesalt is infamous for its ability to be used in a menagerie of virulent poisons, which have taken the lives of many important figures over the years. It is unknown if it contains any other mineral goods, but there is nothing to be gleamed from the surface. It is only known for its archaeological worth due to the high quantity of extremely well preserved Ancient ruins in the beach.
