Ossies

Basic Information

Anatomy

They are large canine creatures, smaller than wolves but larger than most domesticated dogs. Ossies share many most of their physical traits with their cousins, but are distinct due to many bony growths that cover their bodies, much larger teeth, and in general, much more harsh bone structure.

Growth Rate & Stages

When compared to other canines their life cycle is identical until an Ossie reaches around one year old, after which they begin to heavily shed and suffer from extreme pain as the bone plates begin to grow in. This period of extreme discomfort lasts around 2-3 weeks, after which follows a period of disorientation and sluggish movement as the Ossie attempts to get used to its new carapace.

Ecology and Habitats

Ossies are fairly well adapted to the badlands as they lack a large amount of fur and can survive off of small amounts of fossilwater when paired with the blood of freshly killed prey.

Dietary Needs and Habits

Ossies eat an absurd amount of food, and are accustomed to both hunting and scavenging.

Biological Cycle

An Ossies plates tend to continue growing, when they begin to get old their faces tend to get covered by their own plates. extremely old Ossies may need some form of surgery in order to continue breathing.
