The Kingdom of Aelland

The Kingdom of Aelland comprises the geographic region referred to as the Heartlands of Delunar. The Kingdom was founded by its first king Aella the Brave in the first year of the new Era of Men, following the 2nd pan-Delunarian war. The heartlands contain the fertile lands around the Delan river and the Delan gulf, up to the highlands around the Aldun lake. Geographically, the Heartlands are bound by the Deep Woods in the west and the central Dûn mountain range in the east. The Kingdom of Aelland as is bordered by the state of Portis in the south and the Duchy of Belem in the North.

Major Settlements

Buckland Keep

Buckland Keep, alternatively known as the Red Keep, is the capital of the Kindom of Aelland and seat of the line of Aella. Buckland keep is mostly renowned, or notorious, for the strength of its defenses.

Herbeorg

Herbeorg is the major port in the northern Delan Gulf, and as such a vital trading hub for the northern half of Delunar. It is the western-most settlement bordering the Deep Woods. Herbeorg is one of the few towns in frequent contact with the elves of Aelthandir.

Tabury

Tabury is the southern-most major settlement of the Kingdom of Aelland. Just outside of Tabury lies the royal hunting lodge. Because of its history as a hunters town, it is renowned for its tanners and leatherworking artisans.

Adham

Adham is a large town on the border of the Deep Woods, located around the major traderoute to the Duchy of Belem. It is a favoured stop for travelers and merchants heading north or south because of its legislative office at which travel documents can be arranged for the Duchy of Belem, harbor passage in Heorborg or entry to Buckland Keep.

Westead

Westaed is located just north of the Delan river, roughly halfway upstream to Aldun lake. Most of the travelers passing through Westead are scholars and archeologists, investigating the ruined city of Amad Dal, or mountaineers going east. It's population consists mostly of farmers and fishers.

Aestead

Aestead lies at the foot of the highlands south of the Delan river. Like Westead, it's population mostly consists of farmers and fishers.
