The oldest city in Hoseki, known for its beaches and its fishing industry.

Demographics

A graph of the Yamanakan population. Hiran (elves) make up 56% of the population, followed by Itoji (eathys) with 15%, then Karubi (orc) by 11%, Daruhi (dwarf) at 10%, and then Hito (humans) at 8%

Government

Since Yamanaka is also the capital of Hoseki, they have the central government hosted there as well as the city council. City Council, however, deals with the local Yamanakan affairs rather than country, and are in a separate ward from the central government.

Industry & Trade

Tourism

Yamanaka's biggest industry is tourism, given it's overabundance of things to do in the city. From the beaches of Pyugami to the museums and amusement parks of Mihata, there are so many things to do that Yamanaka is one of the top 5 liveliest places in the world of Enaros.

Fishing

Yamanaka's second biggest industry is fishing, thanks to the port of Saruda. As mentioned earlier, there are plenty of sarina restaurants around, also adding to the fishing industry.

Not only this, however, it makes for a great docking place for cruise ships. Granted, cruises are extremely rare and reserved for special occasions.

  • History

Hoseki was founded in the late years of the Aeon of Ancients, starting with the capital city of Yamanaka. It is the oldest city that is inhabited. Originally, though, it was not the capital. It started out as a plain city in the Aeon of Ancients, however, it became a capital around 568 Age of Kingdoms, a time when the shinjiki had the most military power in Hoseki, granted they rarely ever made public appearances. No one would know a person was a shinjiki unless told.

    Points of interest

    • Imperial castle in the Kinami district.
    • The karedō shrine, Hitanami Kyanari Jisha, which is also one of the oldest shrines in Hoseki, located in the Mihata district.
    • Saato Cafe in the Arate district

    Tourism

For the most part, beach lovers like to come for the beaches. Geeks love the geek culture centers. People interested in Hosekian culture enjoy the historical areas. Foodies love visiting the restaurants and such. There's a little something for everyone in Yamanaka.

    Geography

The closest parts of Yamanaka to the ocean are Saruda and Pyugami. Pyugami has a beach along the coastline, about 9 kilometers long, while Saruda has the ports for trade and such. The rest of Yamanaka is less of a resort and more of a city. It does features some rolling hills the further inland you get, though, which limits Yamanaka's city to the coast.

Yamanaka is bordered by smaller municipalities such as: Hareya, Narada, Yamada, and Morino.

    Climate

    • Humid, subtropical.
    • Monsoon season means that the end of Neol, through Xigira, and through the end of Ijurik, it's raining frequently.
    • Extremely humid in the summer.
    • Mild in winter and very sunny those months.
