Second War of Rhanalan
The Second War of Rhanalan, the sequel to the First Rhanalanian War, was a war fought by the Rhanalanian Liberation Front and the Patriot Defense Forces after apartheid regulations placed by the Naa'rani government. After about four years of war, countless lives lost, the Rhanalanian Liberation Front successfully pried the Rhanalanians from the claws of the Naa'rani, forcing them to leave the country. They signed a treaty where they were ordered to never step foot on Rhanalan ever again and to offer reparations to the Rhanalanian population.
The Conflict
Prelude
In the late 380s throughout the 390s, the Naa'rani humans started ramping up their restrictions and harshened apartheid on the native population. Humans threw the natives into quarters, sectioning them off from the rest human population. Child-bearing people were being medically castrated in some cases, gender roles were heavily enforced. Food was being withheld as punishment for defiance. Civil unrest grew but constantly got suppressed with threats of starvation.
Finally, Rhanalanian anger boiled over in late 400. Mass protests and riots swamped the land, causing Naa'rani colonizers to fight back. The skirmish landed thousands in prison, mostly Rhanalanians with some Naa'rani as well who got mixed up as Rhanalanians. Even after finding out Naa'rani had been accidentally mixed in with the native population, Naa'ran did nothing to free them.
Initiating Event
President Duane Noble sent forces with the aid of their sister country, Hyr, in for an invasion of Dhir Dohna. End'orian High Seer, Kaedheil Shadhinu, in conjunction of Vininsian High Seer, Ryana Sinher, immediately issued an ultimatum to cease its military operations. However, President Noble blatantly ignored the ultimatum and allowed the razing of buildings and bombing of camps. After which, End'oria and Vininsia both declared war on Naa'ran, and pledged their support to the Rhanalanian population.
Knowing they needed backup, Shahran tossed their hat in the ring and sent their navy to blockade Dhir Dohna from the Hyrian and Naa'rani armies. End'orian and Vininsian armies trickled in from the north in Cirae, bringing in supplies and aid to the country. Hyr and Naa'ran responded in kind with gunfire, eventually annexing the city and setting up their base there.
Realizing this was not going to be a quick conflict, End'oria, Vininsia, and Shahran pushed their forces further south, setting up camp in Bahlgolar.
The Engagement
Seige of Bhalgolar
The code cracking team from End'oria, the unit led by Lieutenant Commander Kaedan Beservera, broke a code indicating the seige was about to begin. Before Kaedan could get out of the building before the attack, a missile landed and exploded, capturing him in the rubble. He miraculously survived, but after his spine was crushed by a beam falling on him, he now lives with chronic back pain and uses a wheelchair. However, his actions and dedication to codebreaking was a significant turning point in the war.
The seige also raided the city proper, bombing civilian homes where they believed rebels and Liberation Front members were being sheltered. Thankfully, due to Kaedan and his codebreaking team, they were able to evacuate a decent portion of the city—both civilians and soldiers—before the worst of the attacks could arrive. A casualty of this event was Xarlen Adhena, who spent her last minutes alive shuffling children into a shelter to protect them from gunfire and bombs.
Naval Battle of the Gulf of Rhanalan
This was a naval engagement between the Shahrani navy and the Naa'rani army on a Shahrani holy day, id-Fadhir al Vanna. The Yahrub and her sisters against the U.N.S.S. San Diego and U.N.S.S. Eustiss and their sisters. The Yahrub was destroyed by the U.N.S.S. Eustiss, killing half the crew. Captain al-Kanneyeh was one of the survivors after losing half of his tail and half of his leg. Despite this, Captain al-Kanneyeh returned to the battlefield towards the end of the war to exact Shahran's revenge of the U.N.S.S. Eustiss.
Outcome
After being defeated by the Liberation Front, the Rhanalanians were freed from the Naa'rani humans. Much of the Liberation Front remained to help rebuild the country and financial aid, including reparations from Naa'ran, was funneled into the country in order to boost the Rhanalanian economy and get things going again.
Aftermath
Led to civil unrest in the Corporate States of Naa'ran for a few years, the President was impeached and it actually worked this time, especially given his involvement in war crimes during the war (did not learn to at least be discreet about it after the first war).
After the war, resentment grew within the country and Naa'ran decided they still needed land, and wanted to take back Str'ana. Anti-Endinsian sentiments also grew over the years, leading to some small scattered groups of anti-Endinsian hate groups.
Historical Significance
Legacy
The slow breakdown of Naa'ran control across the world begun after the war. International Naa'rani support groups began collapsing and pulling support from the Naa'ran. They still have control of the Council of Sorcerers and everything they created, but the world is starting to find the confidence to stand up against the Naa'ran's control.

This account of the Second War of Rhanalan is absolutely enthralling! I love how you balanced the large-scale political and military events with deeply human stories like Xarlen Adhena’s bravery and Captain al-Kanneyeh’s resilience. The attention to detail, from the apartheid regulations to the naval battles, creates a rich and immersive narrative. The aftermath and the legacy sections are particularly powerful, showing not just the war’s immediate impact but its far-reaching consequences. Fantastic work on crafting such a compelling and multi-faceted history! c:
