The Dhibani Desert is a sparsely populated desert where only those who can tolerate the heat survive. Usually the homes found here are infused with cooling (or warming) magic. Despite the magic that exists, the desert is still too harsh for many.

Demographics

A massive majority are orcs, because they have the ability to cool themselves better than most other races, as well as their bodies are made for the warmer climates. But then there is a small minority of dwarves and even a few humans scattered about.

Industry & Trade

With magic botanists and gardeners, as well as the work of scientists, the people who live within the Dhibani desert find themselves trying to cultivate their own food. The unfortunate thing, though, is that magic can only help but so much. What they are able to cultivate, they are able to trade with other countries.

Food cultivated, exports
  • Peppers
  • Iglerrott, an apple red, tomato-like fruit with a slight grape-like flavor
  • Odeon, an orange, onion-like vegetable
  • Eopes, purple, carrot-like vegetable
  • Amons, a type of melon that tastes like a red delicious apple with a hint of banana.

Geography

The Dhibani Desert is, well, a desert. It is about 250 miles of sand, some crumbling and cracking land, wind-worn rock formations, and winding dunes. There is a canyon about twenty miles from Armana, where the Lubani River used to extend to. Throughout the desert are scattered oasises, though again they are far and few between.

Climate

During the day time, the southern part of the desert is scorching hot. It is airid, the air receives almost no moisture. It is, indeed, a dry heat. It receives less than 15 inches (38 centimeters) of rain per year). During the night time, it is freezing cold, sometimes dropping to the freezing point. There are only two seasons for the souther Dhibani Desert: dry and rainy.

The northern Dhibani Desert, however, typically are warm in the summer, but not hot. But in the winter, temperatures dip below freezing. Just like the southern part, the desert gets very little precipitation. Snow is just as rare as rain.
