Sunrise Wars

Historical Overview of the Sunrise Wars

In the historical accounts found in the Imperial College Archives, the Sunrise Wars stand as a significant chapter that unfolded after the conclusion of the Eternal Wars. In this era, humanity took the opportunity to settle and harness the powers bestowed by the Karmaic Gods. The Lake Pansol region saw the rise of dominant cultures – the Marsh Nomads, Lake Peoples, Cliff Tribes, and Forest Hunters.   As settlements expanded and resources became the focal point, minor skirmishes escalated into a full-fledged conflict known as the Sunrise Wars. This historical narrative unfolds against the backdrop of Karmaic-infused landscapes, where the clash of cultures and the mastery of elemental forces left an enduring mark on the history of Pansol Lake.

Prelude

Following the Eternal Wars, mankind found a new home in the diverse landscapes around Pansol Lake. The region was shaped by Karmaic Gods, offering abundant resources and awakening Karmaic Energy. Settlements flourished, and diverse practitioner disciplines emerged. In the Lake Pansol region, cultures like Marsh Nomads, Lake Peoples, Cliff Tribes, and Forest Hunters rose to prominence.   As the population increased throughout the Pansol Region; which harboured different Karmaic cults cultivating influence, wealth, and power, permanent settlements were established, the competition for resources intensified. Minor skirmishes between factions initially took place, but it became inevitable that a conflict would eventually ignite.
Conflict resolution before the Sunrise Wars.
As intentionally killing is deemed an unforgiveable negative Karmaic Act, and that doing at a grand scale would be problematic both for the individual; as it will cause the condition Karmaic Madness, and for society; one of the causes of a Discord Environment. Thus, prior to the Sunrise Wars; which was the first wholescale conflict since the Eternal War and the first war within the Pansol Region, it was customary to settle various disputes, through a series of ritual combat.   This consisted of two parts, one part is where concentrated congregations from both sides of the dispute would give mantras to the appropriate Guardian. After which the combatants will fight set pieces with performance and the amount of Positive Karmaic energy accrued throughout the combat would be the deciding factor on whom would be the victor.
