Rakar Prasta

Introduction

Consisting essentially of an offering bowl, crystal, and infusion plate, the Karmaic Portable Shrines hold significant importance in facilitating the fulfillment of devotees' desires or wishes. The offering bowl serves as the vessel for appropriate offerings aimed at achieving the desired outcome (Dham), while the Karmaic Crystal keeps and utilizes the karmic energy offered to infuse the recipient with the intended result.

Karmaic Inner Workings

The design and construction of Karmaic Portable Shrines remain a closely guarded secret, with roots tracing back to the Great Shrines erected during the Eternal War era. All of the Empire's Portable Shrines are constructed by the High Priesthood, and none shall dismantle or alter it, on pain of being 'marked', the culprit and his immediate family are permanently tattooed on their hands and feet. The size and quality of the crystal embedded within the shrine determine its capacity and capability to manifest devotees' desires, underscoring the significance of craftsmanship and materials used in their creation.

Historical & Cultural Development

Rooted in ancient traditions and beliefs, Karmaic Portable Shrines are imbued with cultural and spiritual significance. They draw inspiration from the concept of karma, reflecting the interconnectedness of actions and their consequences. The Great Shrines, upon which their design is based, were strategically built atop natural Karmaic Energy Wells, emphasizing their role as conduits for harnessing and channeling spiritual energies.
Baa-Prasta
Baa-Prasta, designed for larger or semi-permanent Dhams, such as providing clean water in settlements or aiding military expeditions, exhibit grandeur and sophistication in their construction. These shrines typically consist of ornately decorated cupboards mounted on wooden or rock bases, adorned with intricate painted reliefs, carvings, and embellishments like windchimes or tassels. Their dimensions range from 1.5 to 3 meters in height, 1 to 2 meters in width, and a depth similar to their width, with weights varying from a few hundred kilograms to over a ton.
Cho-Prasta
On the other hand, Cho-Prasta, designed for small-scale and highly portable use, cater to tasks like irrigation of small fields or aiding in animal births during journeys or trade caravans. These shrines are more modest in structure, typically crafted from wicker or reeds, with doors or panels revealing their components. Cho-Prasta's dimensions are more compact, ranging from 30 to 60 centimeters in height, 20 to 40 centimeters in width, and a depth similar to their width. They are significantly lighter, weighing only a few kilograms to tens of kilograms, owing to their smaller size and materials.
