Commander Avos

Commander William Avos

Commander Avos is a Commander from Town of Winterhold in Kingdom of Westgate . He currently commands the 4th regiment of foot, which is a large unit consisting of 3 detachments of spearmen, and a few contingents of archers for support.
He is known for his prowess at the Battle of Rose Pass, where his unit fought along with the Lancers of Aorn. It was he who came up with the idea for the formation for the Lancers, but he was ordered to keep the Lancers in the woodline.
Fortunately for Avos, the Lancers were becoming frustrated with the lack of action in the battle, and took up Avos' plan on their own, decisively routing the enemy, and granting Commander Avos much fame, within the army and without.
Following his return to Winterhold, Commander Avos reorganized his unit and assumed command of the 2nd regiment of foot, eventually merging the units together under the 3rd battalion of foot in 1251 AR.
In 1252, Commander Avos once again went to battle, along with the 1st battalion of foot. They fought a pitched battle against Northreach in the Winterhold Fief, near the yellow hills. They were not so fortunate this time, and won a phyrric victory. Forces under his command were forced to regroup at Castle Everim.
Although he won two skirmishes against Northreach, once in 1253 and again in 1254, high command did not forget the casualty number at the yellow hills; he was stripped of his rank and discharged in 1256, under the charge of Negligence in Battle Causing Unnecessary Casualties.
