Long ago the world of emetroth was ravaged by superweapons however the world has managed to restore itself due to techtonic movement and magic   a world which has already achieved globalization due to being mostly oceanic divided up into the AZNR league which lies to the east a socially advanced by medieval standards kingdom of wonder that prefers to live with nature; the holy kingdoms astheril and saperens which lies over the prime meridian which is heavily religious and one of the most resource rich locations on the planet as well as the most industrial; to the north lies an ice ridden land home to warlike tribes; the oceanic university a group of scholars who are somewhat mysterious but produce the most powerful mages lying in the west; further west are the unexplored lands where primal magic runs wild amoungst the floating islands; finally the miracle city state to the south which should be to cold to support life however the prismatic glaciers thought to be produced by the civilizations gods channel light into the city from miles providing the energy to support the crops they grow.   Magic in emetroth plays a role in both society and combat however in recent history mages have been seen as roughly even in combat to infantry and cavalry unless highly trained however catapults are seen as cheaper and less likely to give sass and more effective.   only 100 years have passed since the rise of the astheran kingdom which grew due to the use of an herb which allowed for an untrained mage to wield the raw power of a fully trained mage despite lacking the nuance or fine control
