Founded only in 1851, Seattle is one of the United States's younger cities. This youth gives it a vibrancy, attracting all sorts of strange characters throughout its history. Very quickly, the city became known as a quirky place, where a constantly changing environment of ideas meant that anyone and anything could become normal there.   First settled over 4000 years ago, Seattle is one of the oldest continuously inhabited regions in the United States. It has been home to many many generations of natives, only finally being stolen in the 19th century. The natives are still there, however, and protect their ancient practices from the grasping hands of hipsters, new agers, and white supremacists alike.   A young city and an ancient settlement, a place of diverse opinion and white supremacy, of the modern tech industry and ancient rituals, Seattle is a city of contradictions.
