Vzlun Avor Brekken (Vz-lun A-vorr Brek-ken)

Vzlun Avor Brekken lies to the furthest south of the Velentoth Empire. Built upon the very edges of the sands on the only solid ground for many leagues this is the last source of civilization and water until reaching one of the oases far to the north.   At Vzlun Avor Brekken you can find mostly trade goods, mainly fine jewelry and steel coming out of the Empire, traded directly for the many goods that the Emprie lacks. Here lies one of the only places that a reasonable man might find a Velentoth smith to cast their famed steel into suit or sword for them. That is if one can persuade them to actually lift a hammer.   Vzlun Avor Brekken is a small collection of permanent shacks built around the ramp to the desert. Despite the small number of brick and mortar buildings that is not to say that the outpost is small. The main draw of the town comes after dark. For the Velentoth Empire has prided itself on its hospitality. No one would refuse a drink or refuse to offer a drink to the guests of their abode. And it is upon this premise that the entire town becomes one large tavern, even the smallest smithy will have a few bottles of nut wine and will share with their guests for the evening. Vzlun Avor Brekken is also home to some of the largest tents you could ever lay your eyes upon, some even having multiple floors.   Vzlun Avor Brekken might be the last bastion of civilization but it wont be one you will forget in a very long time.

Demographics

Mostly Traders and Merchants, there is a sizeable force of soldiers but mostly they act as guard and deterrant than as a policing force.

Government

Thrumm Dovern rules the city but mainly wants to ensure free flow of trade both in and out of the empire.

Defences

A low wall, but its main defense is the flat terrain and the desert surrounding it.

Industry & Trade

One of the only trade points for most traders and merchants to aquire Velentothian goods without hiring or joing an expensive sand caravan and risking months criss crossing the desert. However those who do usually make a large fortune so there's almost always an up and coming merchant or trader looking to join one of the caravans to expand their businesses.

Infrastructure

Fresh food is sparce, but with a steady flow of spices and other ingredients the food is pretty good if unusual. Their is a spring deep underground that has been tapped for water. Provided that the town doesnt swell much larger that will sustain the town almost indefinitely.

Assets

The Governor has a reasonably large Manse, far larger than any other structure a few hundred meters from the town.

Guilds and Factions

The Velentoth Empire has a small army recruitment post but unless you are Velenian it is difficult to join. Various other guilds have small tents here, but mainly they act as attendants for their members in the area.

History

The settlement has been beseiged many times over the course of its standing, but the desert is a great deterent and the Velentoth Empire an even better one. it has been over 200 years since the last attack by any sizeable force.

Tourism

The party like atmosphere of the town attracts many a reveller but unless they intend to go deeper into the Empire many dont linger more than a few nights.

Architecture

mainly tents and the occasional shack, mostly for storage.

Geography

A rocky bluff over looking the desert one way and the wilds the other.

Natural Resources

A single underground Spring.
