Tides of Elmori

A watery cleansing of lands

Levi Harvey
Time as a river, unhindered and unbound by mortal affairs. A washing of ground, making all things new. All wars, all peace, every event of great eras, all subject to an inevitable changing of the globe. Dormant waters, amassing into a cyclical deluge that envelops the lands like a blanket of inescapable amnesia. Everything erased.

Summary

A cyclical event that continuously reshapes and reforms the face of Elmori, or so it is said.

Historical Basis

If it is factual, it's causes are unknown. Some say it is the work of malevolent gods, others the effect of natural occurrences, possibly the melting of glaciers. If the latter is to be true, it is not known what would cause glaciers to melt every one hundred and twenty-so thousand years to bring devastation and ends to whole peoples and ways of life. There are rumors of relics and structures from many long forgotten societies and peoples, but this is only speculation.

Spread

Most cultures have a flood myth, or some belief that the world has been reshaped with flood waters.

Cultural Reception

Most people, especially those in positions in government and institution, believe the Tides of Elmori to only be of hearsay, and that they are not grounded in fact, for if they were true, the ruled would probably focus less on the whims of their rulers, and hysteria would reign.
