Vikiri

Stoic, pragmatic, and intelligent. The Vikiri are a focused and brilliant people, choosing to separate themselves from the greater world in order to focus on arcane and scientific pursuits. But due to this culture, most others find the Vikiri to be cold, distant, and unemotional. Yet still, they are often praised for their technological advancements and magical breakthroughs, and at the same time scorned for their lack of research ethics and somewhat myopic viewpoints.
Vikiri can be curious to a fault, always looking to see if they can do something, but never stopping to ask if they should. They often see the world as a merely a means to their experiments and advancements, and so centuries ago moved to the isolated continents of Treal to further themselves from scrutiny. Vikiri have brilliant minds, specifically in fields such as math, science, arcane magic, and engineering. Many of the technological advancements in the past millennium can be attributed to the Vikiri, such as black powder. Normally blind to nuances social situations, the Vikiri place little value on conversation and socializing beyond what is necessary. Emotional expression for many Vikiri, while by no means impossible, is seem more as a task than a natural state.
Vikiri are very tall, standing well over six feet on average, and have lanky builds. They have long, slender fingers, and a wide, flat nose, and stout, pointed ears. They are completely hairless, and their skin ranges in a shades of deep navy to pastel baby blue. Vikiri live on average 150 years, reaching maturity at the same rate as humans.
