The Ritual of King Orcanthalas

The Birth of Goblinoids

After centuries of losing battles and many Elves, King Orcanthalas gathered his high priests and powerful mages to come up with a way to defeat and drive away the Humans and Dwarves that had slain all his officers in battle.         Any being that could wield any type of magic, whether it was divine, natural or mystical, was summoned or even brought to the King to help with the ritual.   It took many months to for everyone to prepare for the last attempt to save the Elven Nation. Finally, all the remaining elves were brought to the city square. Everyone was given a potion to drink and the chanting begun. Within minutes, the surroundings began to glow with a white light and electricity began to dance in the shy. Bright green and purple light danced above and the erupted through the land, engulfing all in the city. All the elves were thrown back, their bodies began to crack and break. Everyone screaming in pain and agony, then all went black.   When everyone came to, they had been transformed into large grey to green humanoid beasts with huge tusks on their lower jaws. Their forms were truly powerful and grotesque. King Orcanthalas rose to his feet and he felt the power surge within his new body. As he looked around his city he noticed that even the population that was not intended to be part of the ritual had been transformed as well, but they did not look the same as his Elves. The Gnomes had been transformed into smaller greenish people with large ears, the Halflings seemed to look a bit reptilian and the band of Moon Elves that had been visiting the city were huge, hairy humanoids. Two of the Druids that came to lend aid, seemed to have been infused with their serpents.
