Commandant of the Order
Currently the Order's Commandant is General Renshawe Goldenhammer. The position is held for 20 years and he has been in the position for the past 15 years.
Qualifications
In order to qualify to be considered to be the Commandant, a Dwarf must be a member of the Order of the Anvil and the rank of General. The Kings council in the Kingdom of Nine deliberate on who is the best candidate and vote on who it will be. More weight is granted on a candidate if they are nominated by the current Commandant.
Requirements
Age has no merit on the rank, only the individual has served in the Order and has obtained the rank of General.
Appointment
Commandant's are voted on by the King's council and then the promotion is administered by the High King himself.
Responsibilities
The responsibilities of the Commandant are subject to the authority, direction, and control of the King's Council. As stated in the Order's Code, the commandant "shall preside over the Headquarters of the Order, transmit the plans and recommendations of the Headquarters of the Order, to the King's Council and advise the Council with regard to such plans and recommendations, after approval of the plans or recommendations of the Headquarters of the Order, by the Council, act as the agent of the Council in carrying them into effect, exercise supervision, consistent with the authority assigned to commanders of unified or specified combatant commands, over such of the members and organizations of the Order, perform the duties prescribed for him by his title and other provisions of law and perform such other military duties, not otherwise assigned by law, as are assigned to him by the High King or the King's Council".
Grounds for Removal/Dismissal
Commandants can only be removed; if they serve their 20 year term, killed in battle or commit a treasonous act against the Kingdom of Nine. At no time is it acceptable for a Commandant to leave his posting on his own accord.
