Defences
The city is surrounded by walls nearly 40 feet high, and 20 feet thick (up to 30 on the eastern side of the city). These were built in response to the attacks from Bern in years past. As the furthest east March, they are the first target to a Bern invasion.
Guard towers dot these walls, though in peacetime, they are sparsely patrolled. There is a standing guard of about 500 guards, with 100-150 actively patrolling the walls and the city at any time. Up to 1500 citizens are part of the guard-reserve, to be activated in case of an attack, or city crisis.
Industry & Trade
The city doesn't have many base goods of its own. What it specializes in are craft goods. The city imports raw goods through the markets, and exports crafted goods that flow to the other Marches of Lycia
Infrastructure
The city has a working sewer system, several large markets, and many forges spewing smoke into the air. Roads trace the outlines of buildings. Primarily dirt, but some wide cobblestone roads leading into the markets.
Assets
Nearly anything an adventurer might need can be found here. There are many armories, smiths, masons, tanners, butchers, etc. There is also a mana bank, where adventurers and wealthy individuals may stock up on every color of mana. Graveyards located within the city are where most citizens are buried. There is an academy that has the most advanced magical curriculum in Lycia
Geography
The terrain around Araphen is very plain in every meaning of the word. There isn't much for verticality in the surrounding area, and open expanses of fields fill the view around the city. There is no significant body of water near the city
