Become a Maxem and Elemental

People usually feel they have the power around 12 years of age. Though anomalies can happen and they can feel it much earlier or later   Finding out you're a maxem is a task in itself. When living in a place that is very anti-maxem, the person might hope to never try to find out, and some simply never feel to try. The person just feels a connection and attraction to their power, much like someone might feel inclined to play guitar. And after feeling that inclination, they can start to try their power, such as imagining a flower to wilt and die [death]. It really depends on their personality and how they want to manipulate the world around them.   Ex. Melnar always liked helping people and his family taught him all about giving. One day when he went out into the woods with his brothers, his brother slipped and fell off a tree, slashing himself badly on the fall. Melnar heard the scream and look at his bleeding brother in despair, he cradled him in his arms as he looked at the wound, wishing it would not exist, that the bleeding stop and the skin go back where it should be. He closed his eyes and wept, wishing it was just a dream and that his brother was okay. Suddenly he noticed that his brothers' breath returned to normal, he opened his eyes and looked at a scar where the wound had been.   Satla lived her life by the sea, she helped at the dock daily, in her free time she watched the waves and was curious as to how it all worked, watching the tide rise and fall. One day experimenting in her house with a tub of water, she wondered if she too might be a maxem. Visualizing how she wanted to move the water, she put a tiny makeshift boat in the water and thought hard about how the water worked, in her head she saw the waters flowing how they did outside. The boat didn’t budge, but she was determined, trying harder she even started making hand gestures as if to push the water with her palm, to her astonishment and excitement, the makeshift boat started moving.   (these people are now used to doing their magic in a specific way and are attuned to their one magic. If they were to try to do what the other could do, they would fail, simply because the specific thought process and understanding is different. It is incredibly rare, but if one succeeds in understanding how to do different magics, they become magus)       Becoming an elemental is a task one can only dream of achieving. While some may become maxems, only the best can become elemental, since there can only be 4 at a time, (one each of Fire, Life, Ice, Death). One can only become an elemental if the corresponding elemental dies. Upon the elementals death, the relic itself chooses the next worthy protector to become elemental (usually the strongest of the corresponding element. Though proximity to the relic and their allegiance/ideals are taken into heavy consideration). Once a maxem is chosen as an elemental (usually 2 days), they suddenly realize that they have a lot more magical power then they did before, and it takes less energy to do things. The increase in power is great enough that they just know they are now the elemental once they hear the elemental died.
