Sindariel Silverstar

Sindariel Silverstar

Sindariel Silverstar has been orphaned twice in her lifetime. She was born in the small elven community of Moonshadow. Her father(Vaeadil) was a sage of some repute, although she spent little time with his family. Her mother(Lillianne) was bard and retired adventurer. Lillianne was a warm and kind person who shared many of the tales of her travails to Sindariel and her brother, Darzyn.   In her teen years, Sindariel's mother passed to a mysterious illness and Sindariel was thrust into the matriarchal role for her brother. Although she did her best, her over-bearing ways slowly drove her brother away and he slipped away one night, leaving only a note to explain he had decided to take up the adventuring life like their mother.   Although saddened by that fact, Sindariel was also truth be known a bit relieved, as she was able to focus on her own life for a time. Sindariel enjoyed long solo treks into the woods and it was during one of these longs walks she discovered an ancient shrine. She bravely, if not a bit foolishly, entered the shrine and came upon a shadowy entity that spoke to her. Scared, the young elf ran as fast as she could. Blinded by her fear, she stumbled into the burning ruins of Moonshadow before she even realized what had happened. Coming to her senses upon gazing at the scene of carnage that had befallen Moonshadow, Sindariel looked for her father and found him dead at the doorstep of the library. Stifling the tears welling in her eyes she composed herself and buried him next to her mother. She searched for other survivors, but could find none. The crude weaponry left behind made her think it was an orc raid, but she was never able to confirm her suspicions.   She began hearing a whispering voice in her mind, at first she thought perhaps it was her imagination but it persisted and she realized it was the shadowy entity she had encountered in the shrine. It promised her vengeance and would show her how to channel her feelings into power that she could use. Sindariel returned to the shrine, her heart heavy with despair and thoughts of vengeance. She did as the entity instructed and she soon learned to channel her emotions like the entity promised. Once she had mastered the basics of her abilities, she bid the creature farewell and made her way back to civilization.   Homeless, Sindariel decided to make her way to Aldan. One of her mother's adventuring companions lived there, a man by the name of Daern. He had visited often and there was a special bond between him and Sindariel. After a bit of searching, she found him or rather he stumbled upon her. She told him everything that had happened, although she left out the part of the entity and what it had showed her. Daern took her in of course, being single and without children of his own. Things returned to a sense of normally for the young elf.   That is until taking of Aldan by Vesacant. One day while shopping in the market, the dragon's forces spilled out of the sewers and assailed Aldan. Sindariel was among the first captured, but it is very hard to keep an eladrin in captivity and she escaped. Last time, her home had been attacked she had been away but not this time. This time she was there and chose to stay and fight. Finding refuge outside the town and the deadly thicket surrounding it, she struck out against the Tears of the Virulence and their monstrous allies. Sindariel learned to survive in dire and desperate circumstances, with supplies running low and the arrival of reinforcements uncertain. She grew accustomed to acting under the cover of night, dealing what blows that aimed to avenge the friends and family she lost within the currently occupied Aldan. Early in the siege, she found out that Daern had been among the defenders of the initial attack and had fallen in battle. The siege was like the ebb and flow of a great sea, but never seemed to break.   After a time, she knew in her heart that the siege wasn't going well and she decided that she needed to get away from the memory of her adopted father Daern and desired a fresh start and she left in the stillness of the night and made her own way.
