Session 12 "The Shattered Scales" Report

General Summary

The Raven's Alliance heads out. After riding for 8 hours they come upon the remains of Taiah their former companion and the spy seen in Gunthar's dream. They continue on for another 4 hours and realize the worg's need rest. During which Slinger and Sindariel goes hunting with the elf teaching the young halfling the art of the hunt and tracking. In their hunt they are fortunate and take down two good sized males.
Isaac introduces Rockwell to Sindariel who's familiar suddenly wants to use it as a gullet stone. During the watches Rowan convinces Isaac that it is raining rocks and discovers that Rockwell has a brother Stonewell.
The Raven's alliance presses on to Paburgh. As they near the town they soon see that the town is indeed under siege. Dismounting they press forward pass the barricades and take the battle to the vast swarm of undead asssaulting the gates. The sounds of battle soon bring reinforcements in the form of several cultists and orcs. Quickly handling the growing army through their attacks, Gunthar calls upon the Platinum Lord and causes his foes to fear him. Isaac fights off several undead although he takes a shot to the groin from one of the zombies. Slinger fires arrows from the barricade peppering his foes. Rowan soon finds himself surrounded by foes. Calling forth his magic he releases a wave of thunder striking them down.
As the battle falls still the Raven's Alliance advances further into Paburh following the sounds of battle. They reach the temple and see a sight of one on one battle occuring as orcs look on. The party recogizes the scale-bearer Lachlan fighting Isaac's father Tallus. Lachlan appears to have the upper hand striking repeatedly but as he goes in for the kill Tallus strikes swiftly driving his sword through Lachlan's chest. The Raven's Alliance moved into action swiftly with Gunthar, Sindariel, and Lillyanna challenging Tallus. Tallus summons a globe of darkness cutting off the battlefield, as he called forth his wife Fralia. As she emerges from the temple he calls forth aid from a young red shadow dragon and the couple run to it and mount it to make their escape promising to face the Alliance again in the future. The party quickly clean up the remaining force realizing Isaac has fallen in the fight. Lillyanna quickly moves to his side as a pair rush in seeing that Lachlan has fallen. Slinger in the shadows recognizes the smaller of the figures and approaches who he recognizes as his uncle. They approach each other and Leaf and his young nephew embrace. Sindariel slips into the temple to check on what is happening inside......
