Bloodsteel
Bloodsteel is a very strong metal found in Ordo, the moon of Elemaran and realm of the Demons.
Properties
Material Characteristics
Bloodsteel is a reddish-grey shiny metal. Its colour can vary, being almost entirely grey or dark red (in its pure form, it is grey, but due to impurities on Ordo it appears red).
Physical & Chemical Properties
The metal is a very hardy one, rivalling the strength of Kakellium. It is the densest known material in Elemaran, upwards of 30,000 kg/m3
Geology & Geography
Bloodsteel is found on Ordo, both on the surface and underground in large deposits. However, since Ordo is inaccessible to mortals, the only way for them to obtain it is from the weapons of fallen demons. Because hunting a demon is almost impossible, and the metal is too heavy for use of mortals, it is not sought after.
History & Usage
History
Due to its association with Demons, use of bloodsteel is taboo among mortals, especially followers of Supradia.
Discovery
Bloodsteel was first officially referred to in 1106 by Cordaintine officials. Translated instructions for cordaintine soldiers instruct them as follows:
"If you find a weapon made from the iron of the demons, do not interfere with it. Do not interfere, or seek out the owner. Leave the area immediately"
Everyday use
Bloodsteel is under frequent use of the Demons, who forge their weapons from it. Other creatures, aside from Angels, are unable to lift it.
Distribution
Trade & Market
Bloodsteel is not commonly traded, as it is exceedingly difficult to obtain and has no real market. It is, however, used sometimes as something to signify wealth, due to its high price, and lords willing to go against the stigma of owning bloodsteel may wish to have it as a trophy of decoration.
