Adventuring Proofs

All across the goodly realms of Elednom, "adventuring" as a profession is generally considered legal only to those that possess a “Proof.” The official name of a “Proof” is the “Adventurer Medallion,” which represents the “Proof of Participation” in the trials, tournaments, and The Games known as “The Ovar-Battled Festival.”
Participation and succeeding in the first stage of the great adventuring games earns you a small token. Each stage earns a higher ranks medalion and its metal denotes how far you made it through the stages of the games.
Each Adventurer Medallian contains an engraved image to show what year it was earned, and on the other side of the coin it bears circular markings to show the number of times you participated.
There is no limit to the number of festivals one can attend, but there is only one try per festival, and the competitor cannot have vileness in their hearts. Those that are evil are denied entry into these games and a proof turns into a mundane coin if the owner ever becomes evil.

The Metal of the Medals

A Proof of Tin is the lowest ranked medallion and generally shows others that you had the guts to “show up.” The highest Medallion is of a rare metal, either Crysteel or Feysteel—but it is unknown which since such a Medallion has never been given. The Adventurer Medallion s have the blessing of the Ovar-Battled Ones, the adventurer gods for which the festival is named (see Animism, Deities, and The Faithless). Adventurer Medallions cannot be stolen or given away, and even if lost have a way of returning to the owners pocket or pack.
Most seeking to employ adventurer-folk will not hire those without a Proof. This is because a proof is a guarantee that the adventurer has some skill (or at least guts, if the medallion is tin), not evil, and if the adventurer commits a heinous act or cheats their employer somehow, it is said that they can be traced by the clerics of the Ovar-Battled Ones.
