Mage Wars

"Dark Days them, Billiard balls, Death and Doves coming out of any which orrifice."

The Conflict

Prelude

In the early days of the world when the races of the mortal realms first touched magic. Many were corrupted by their power. Galvanised by the War of condescension many mages considered themselves above mortality and with their newly formed freedom. It is safe to say the power went to their heads in a big way. This led to many mages aiming to be the last caster standing, Alone in their godhood.

Battlefield

These battles took place all across the world. Short brutal affairs that took many lives. Most of them bystanders. These long-abandoned battlefields still thrum with wild magic. A tear in the weave mages call it. A reminder it is called by historians and romanticists.

Outcome

When the surviors crawled out of the wreckage of the destoryed towns and cities. They looked around them as the destruction they had wrought. The majority of their kin lied dead. The rage in their hearts and thirst for conquest left them. The story goes that the survivors met in Ducan field. To end the wars once and for all. As the world held its breath waiting for the end. The mages wept, They wept for their kin, They wept for the countless lives that have been taken, They wept for the places in the world that will never again be free from wild magic. The mages swore that day to never allow these events to repeat themselves.

Aftermath

The mages went on to found the Unseen Towers.   The effects of the war still remain. In many of the worlds forgotten places patchs of wild magic can be found. These have become prime sources of boyuant pearwood but remain unsuitable for inhabitation.
