Demographics
The city mostly consists of Tabaxi and Humans.
Government
The city is ruled by the council of commerce. An organizational body comprised of the most wealthy and influential merchants.
Defences
The city has a near-permanent contract with a range of mercenary guilds. While this cannot be considered lawful and can only tenuously be called a peacekeeping force the guilds do keep a form of order in the city and protect it from outside threats.
Industry & Trade
The city is built on trade. The sea of tents, Filled with merchants plying their trade is testament to that. If it can be bought and sold it can be found here. While the council forbids the sale of sentients within city limits. Rumours do spread about a secret slave trade within the city.
Infrastructure
The city itself boasts few permanent building. The majority of the living areas consisting of caravans, Tents and hastily constructed homes. The city has a few wells dotted around and the occasional brick and mortar building where neccesity demands.
History
The majority of the city's history has been lost to time. What we do know is this, The oasis that marks the city centre was a popular stopping point for trade caravans. As more caravans visited the oasis a sort of make shift community sprung up. Which quickly snowballed into the city we have today.
Architecture
The city is mostly comprised of Tents. The colour of the styling of theses tents vary greatly and inevitably clash. The few permanent buildings are constructed out of sandstone and are built to be durable not pretty.
