House Rules

Like any game, there are some rules to keep in mind while playing, both to ensure the game is fun and for the sake of everyone's own comfort! If you have any suggestions or concerns, feel free to let me know!
  1) Be respectful to each other.
  -
  2) No offensive words or inappropriate images or references. We'll go over whether everyone is comfortable with profanity at Session 0
  -
  3) Please change your nickname on the Discord channel to your preferred name with your preferred pronouns! Not your character’s name or username, just your regular name. I’ll add your character through roles! But having your real name will help us all figure out whose who at the table and on Discord!
  -
  4) You can play just about any class or race you want to! Only stipulations are no races or classes from existing IPs (Like Gelflings or Witchers), Sci-Fi creatures, or straight-up gods or Lovecraftian creatures (Mindflayers are an exception). If you want to play something that is homebrewed, please provide me with the race or class resource you are using. If you're unsure if a homebrew race breaks the No IP rule, run it by me!
  -
  5) Violence against children and sexual violence are a no-go at the table. We want this table to be a safe space for everyone! Vague references as part of a backstory are fine, but nothing tangible within the game.
  -
  6) I, the DM, will not roleplay or describe in detail any romantic or sexual encounters with NPCs. I am simply not comfortable with that. You certainly may try to woo an NPC, but successful rolls will simply result in a very open-ended description of the your PC and the NPC "having a lovely evening together." It's up to you to determine what that means.
  -
  7) Any romantic or sexual attempts on another PC must be ok'd by their respective player. I don't care what the charm spell says or what I said that love potion does, you need the consent of the other player to do anything like that. Rolls do not matter, if there is no consent it will fail.
  -
  8) No cheating! Not the worst offence, but no botching rolls or making up your stats! It's okay if you mess up and add the wrong bonuses to your attack roll, but roll you dice on the table where your fellow players, and I the DM, can see, and if you aren't sure what to add to your roll, feel free to ask!
  -
  9) Changing characters is okay, but run it by me first. I understand what its like to make a new character and then have to wait what feels like forever to play it, and that's okay! But check with me, we could be close to a good spot for you to swap characters. Don't deliberately try to get your current character killed, it can ruin the immersion for your fellow players, or, in a worst-case scenario, cause a TPK.
