Moon Capital

The Capital of the Moon Clan is the closest capital to the breach and the home to the moon clan itself. It is located deep in the moonlight forest. The capital itself is completely nocturnal, although a few residents operate in daylight to tend to travelers and tourists.

Demographics

The majority of the population consists of elves who occupy the inner circles of the city. These are located high in the trees that the capital is built upon. However there is a decent population of half-elves and tieflings which primarily live on the outskirts of the capital in more slum-like conditions. These are located close to or on the ground. There are also a few dragonborn, though these tend not to be permanent residents, and some half-orcs and gnomes that primarily work as craftsman in the city.

History

The Moon Clan was the first clan founded in Draxium. It existed even before the split between Draxium and the Kingdom. Before the split, the capital of the Moon Clan actually surrounded the Moon Nexus and the current capital was only a secondary location for the people. However, the Moon Nexus needed to be abandoned when the split between the two countries occurred. It is said that the leader of the Moon Clan is one of the few with memories of the cause of the split.

Architecture

The buildings appear to be made of crystal, designed to capture and scatter the light from the moon throughout the capital. These are built up the trees with staircases wrapping up the trunks and bridges connecting the trees to each other.

Natural Resources

The sap of the trees that the city is built around is said to have hallucinogenic properties and is a popular recreational drug. Some even say that it can occasionally allow glimpses into the future. The same is true of the mushrooms that grow along the bottom of the trees. The Earth below the tree is plentiful with white quartz that the Moon clan collects and works into enchanted gems.
