Capital of Light
The capital and largest city in the Blessed Kingdom. It is also the location of the Temple of Light which is the largest church in the country and home to both the Holy Maiden and the Bishops.
Other notable features of the capital include:
the Council Building: this is where the elected Councilors from around the country meet. Because the councilors do not permanently live in the capital, the building includes the meeting rooms, hearing rooms, and living quarters for all of the councilors.
the Guild Hall: this is where the leaders of each of the merchants guilds meet once a year to decide on things like the prices of goods, trade deals between major industries, and quality rules for across the country. The guild hall is also used for smaller meetings between prominent merchants and clients throughout the year even when the heads of the merchant guilds are not there.
Demographics
Humans make up 90% of the inhabitants in the capital.
Gnomes make up 5% of the inhabitants
Halflings make up 2% of the inhabitants
Dwarves make up 1% of the inhabitants
The remaining 2% is composed of rarer species such as half-elves and half-orcs
Infrastructure
In addition to being the capital city the City of Light is also the oldest city in the kingdom. However, rather than allowing the city to fall into disrepair the church makes sure the entire city shines with beautiful light. Both the buildings and the streets are made of white stones. Water flows down canals that run on the sides of the streets to carry fresh water throughout the city. Waste is handled by special composters who collect it from different districts on a regular basis.
