Nidine

Nidine (a.k.a. the Lady of Lakes)

Nidine ([?] nì·din), or the Lady of Lakes, is the goddess of water and marine life in Elae Meltaea, honored in some fashion by nearly every culture the world over. Portrayed in a wide variety of forms, in truth she resembles a young Kelpi.

Appearance

Nidine resembles a young Kelpi, the Elae Meltaea equivalent of a mermaid. Given that there are no humans in our world, the respective portion has been replaced with Strider (equine) features, similar to the kelpie of Scottish mythology.   She'll probably wield a trident or something.

Persona

Nidine is a very shy and reclusive creature who rarely permits an audience beyond fish and other small-to-mid-sized animals, though her non-judgmental nature allows her to soothe and settle many godly quarrels. She is very close friends with Draead, one of the few other Little Girl gods who isn't a rotten bitch, often serving as a patient listener to her frustrations who doesn't question her. While usually bashful, Nidine becomes chattery with Nim, like a young girl with a plushy friend. [q]Those who spite the forest find no solace on the sea.[/q] Despite her gentle sweetness, and although she will accept a large amount of abuse herself, Nidine becomes very dangerous when her friends (especially Draead or Nim) are insulted or threatened. This includes when mortals offend their holy sites; after seizing one of Draead's various relics, lady-pirate Wyndia found the sea very unwelcoming until she returned the relic to the Tyrvari, and had to ask them for a medic due to illnesses suffered from the storm.
