Elaan

The small continent of Elaan is surrounded by water on three sides and a mountain range in the east. The centre is dominted by a large steppe which is divided in two by the great river Khana. There is a desert along the southern coast which is uninhabited, the rest of the peninsula is lived in by a wide range of creatures. There are many large and small cities spread all around these lands. In the south-western ocean, there is a large volcanic island on which the large city of Finnenkluft is home to King Erin.   349 years ago there was a huge battle between the humans and their allies against the raiding centaurs living in the steppe. When it looked like the alliance of humans would lose Verona, the most powerful magician to have ever lived, sacrificed herself to create the river now known as Khana. The defending army was able to then push the centaurs in the river and thereby win the battle.   Now banished to the new created southern steppe, the centaurs had gone into a less notable life but recently have taken to raiding more again. Many people lost their homes and were displaced, ow living as refugees and seeking new beginnings.   The King and his army, safe in the far away city of Finnenkluft, have yet to respond to the attacks in any meaningfull way. Some people are upset with the way the problem is being ignored and have called for someone to finally act.
