Bakshek
An important animal symbol to the country of Ahkna, it's a sort of feline that stands about 1-2 feet tall, and grows clusters of sharp needle-line spines along it's back in. Almost a hybrid of a cat and a porcupine.
Basic Information
Anatomy
Feline in structure, with thick ears, a prominent muzzle, clusters of spines all over it's back, and a long, semi-prehensile tail. The baksheks grow more spikes as they get older.

About 1.5 ft at the shoulder, 1 cm long claws
Genetics and Reproduction
Mammalian, so reproduction occurs with mating and birth and all that. Mating season usually occurs in the fall or late summer, while gestation normally takes all winter. By spring, the offspring are typically born.
Ecology and Habitats
Most often live in hills or grasslands, and can survive well in the scrublands of deserts.
Dietary Needs and Habits
Eats meat mostly, but can survive on (and seems to enjoy) certain select vegetation such as red grass and syhana flowers.
