Suredyegwa (sɜredjegwa)
Suredyegwa (ice crawler) is an spider found and named by the Nirugo. They discovered the creature in cold caves and in some forests. It lives for six to seven months and can inject cold poison if it bites it's victim. This poison cant kill a human but it is very painful and some adult spiders can cause mild frostbite.
Basic Information
Anatomy
It has eight legs, a furry coat and small eyes. Its about the size of a palm and much like a tarantula.
Genetics and Reproduction
The female insect lays her eggs in warm caves with webs rapped around the eggs acting as a blanket.
Growth Rate & Stages
Suredyegwa has five stages.
Stage 1
In it's first stage it is in a small round egg found in caves for three months.Stage 2
When it takes its first steps, it only looks like a small fur ball about the size of the top part of a pinky finger, this takes one week.Stage 3
After this week we start to see its legs and its eyes are under a thin layer of skin this goes on for a month.Stage 4
In its fourth stage it starts to sense magic essence and starts to see, one to two months.Stage 5
In its final stage it grows to the size of a palm and lives in this stage for three months.Ecology and Habitats
It live on the mountains in very cold climates. To it's furry coat helps them to stay warm and they commonly huddle in groups. This makes them very dangerous in number.
Dietary Needs and Habits
They build their dens and their hunting webs apart. They build their dens in caves and store their food there, and they build their webs in forests and catch other insects.
Biological Cycle
In the winter they don't go out hunting as often. They also are day hunters because of the freezing nights.
Behaviour
If it feels threatened it will inject a poison known to the Nirugo as clarenutegwa (cold danger). This poison can be treated by cutting open the wound but could cause mild frostbite.
Additional Information
Perception and Sensory Capabilities
Since it lives in a very cold climate, it can sense the vibrations of magic essence. With it, they sense very large acres of land, if in a cold place.
