Candle Lighter

Hidden under a dark brown cloak, a woman stretches out her hand holding up a small copper lantern illuminated by a single simple candle. Circling the flame within the lamp a swarm of burning bees guard their firey queen. Holding the lamp up high the swarm quickly flys off into the darkness. Watching inferno rages around her attacker, she slits the swarm to protect her as new treat leaped out of the shadows.

Qualifications

Either by an exotic bloodline, some otherworldly influence, or grand dead, A Candle Lighter gifts carry the blessing of the goddess of death, Uranesia. Although a person can not be thought to become a candle lighter, it still takes years of practice to master the craft.

Purpose

A candle lighter has three purposes in Eisholle societies.

1. The Protector
2. The Healers.
3. The Purifiers

Before Candle lighters were cast out as witches, their magic was seen as a great aid for society. After dark, they would walk the streets of town lighting torches or lamps using their magical flames to protect their fellow villagers from evil spirits that travel in the dark. Their healing flames could any inflection caused by curses, and their purification flames could remove poisons form food or water.

The Tools of a Candle lighters Trade:

1. Candle Box: The Candle lighters box contains all the candles in a candle arsenal. Traditionally blessed by priestesses of Uranesia, legends say that these mystical boxes will always refile themselves as long as a single candle lies within.
2. Candles: A Candle lighter must have at least one of six types of candles, Beeswax, Palm, Soy, Tallow, Butter, or Black.
3. Iron, Copper, Silver, or Gold Lantern: The second most valuable tool in the Candle Lighter's arsenal is his/her lamp. The Candle Lighters lamp amplifies and protects the candle within. Candle lighters only use iron, copper, silver, or golden lanterns, do the magical properties trapped within.
4. Candle Striker: Because most Candle Lighters can not produce a flame independently, Candle Lighters carry with them a small knife and flit strikers. Not only can the candle striker light their candles, but it can also as a hand-to-hand weapon or cast candle sparks, fast-burning magical flames.
5. Blessed Stone Cauldron: Blessed by Uranesia, these stone cauldrons trap her magic within the magical molten wax used to craft her unique candles.

Types of Candles:

• Beeswax Candle: Natural beeswax candles are the preferred candle for healing. They help clean the air while burning, and they also burn cleaner and longer than plants or candles.
• Palm/Soy Candle: Thicker than other waxes, palm wax, is more sustainable than Beeswax or Animal candles and are the most common candle used by candle new candle lighters.
• Tallow/Butter Candle: The fastest burning of candles Tallow and Butter Candle is the most potent and powerful weapon in a candle lighter's arsenal.
• Black Candle: The black Candle is taboo in for most candle lighters. Black candles are made from the flesh of dead humans, can be just as dangerous for the Candle Lighter as well as his target.
