Ranger

Rangers wander the wilds defending civilization while remaining ever apart from it. They are the consummate outdoorsmen, and can recover their fatigue and wounds without returning to a settlement. Rangers can wear light armor and can use all weapons but excel at archery.   Special skills:
  • Animal Taming (200)
  • Camp (rangers can craft a campsite where they can treat their wounds and rest to recover fatigue. Only rangers can fully recover here. Non-ranger party members can be treated to recover a maximum of 50% of the wounds they have taken since their last rest. They cannot rest at a camp again until they have received additional wounds or fatigue. To fully recover, non-rangers must return to a city (or Ancient Oak in the case of druids). The higher the ranger's camping skill, the better the camp will be hidden from enemies. Passing enemies make a perception check against the ranger's camp skill. If they fail, they cannot see the ranger or any of the ranger's group mate so long as they remain inside the camp. Constructing a camp requires materials gathered from the wilds. Camps can only be created in wilderness areas.).
  • Climb (250)
  • Craft Trap (250)
  • Forage (250)
  • Language: Animal (100)
  • Language Plant (50)
  • Swim (100)
  • Track (250)
Abilities:
  • Stride (5): Movement speed increases by 5% at level five and by an additional 2% every three levels; buff only applies in wilderness areas
  • Wilderness Guide (25): Share Stride buff with party members
  • Eagle-eye (10): arrows can crit; arrow crit damage increases by one step every 15 levels (i.e. x2 at 10, x3 at 25, x4 at 40, x5 at 55, and x6 at 70)
  • Know Your Foe (15): When facing an enemy type that has been previously defeated by the ranger, the ranger gains a bonus to hit against that enemy.
  • Battle Guide (30): Party members gain 25% of the ranger's Know Your Foe bonus. This increases to 50% at level 45 and 75% at level 60.
  • Untrackable (35): cannot be tracked unless tracker's skill is 50 or more points over the ranger's stride skill. The party members of Pathfinders also cannot be tracked unless the Pathfinder is detected.
  • Rapid Shot (25): the ranger draws three arrows and looses them in rapid succession. Each arrow deals 80% of it's normal damage and has slightly reduced accuracy.
  • Trickshot (40): ranger can ricochet arrows to strike foes outside of line of sight
  • Hobble (20): rangers can throw bolas that tie up the target's feet, slowing their movement by 60% at level 20, 75% at level 40 and 90% at level 60
At level 20, rangers can begin the quest to unlock the Survivalist title. At level 35 they can begin the quest to unlock the Trailblazer title, and at level 50 they can begin the epic quest to unlock the Pathfinder title.
