Elddar Desert

Once a lush forest, the Curse of Innoruuk stripped the soil of its fecundity, turning the region into an desolate expanse of sand dunes, barren plains, and salt flats. The only remaining water, the Oasis of Brell, bubbles upwards from the Underfoot. In the center of the oasis, the Everspire rises high into the sky, once the central spire of the Amarilian city of Takish Hiz, now submerged beneath the waters. Elsewhere in the desert, Amarilian ruins poke up from the sands drawing treasure hunters from across Norrath. The only reason these ruins have remained somewhat untouched is the Seriana Dal, elves who stayed rather than journey east to Faydwer. These dark skinned elves have adapted to desert life where they travel in nomadic camps from ruin to ruin, driving away any plunderers they find. Beyond the Seriana Dal, orcs of the Blood Drinker clan roam the desert as do various undead animated by fallen shards of Luclin and demons raised during the destruction of Amaril. Lastly, a few Dervish Cutthroat camps can be found in the northern desert.

The Everspire rises from its depths and a multitude of Elddar ruins can be found at the bottom of the oasis. The Everspire was built at a locus of telluric energy, allowing druids to teleport to and from the Temple of Tunare at its base (although they must swim to the bottom of the oasis to reach the temple. Clerics of Tunare can also learn to teleport groups to the temple.
