Railside

Describe a bustling market settlement in your world. What can I find for sale?   Being in the fall quarter of the year, the platform is crowded (but kept orderly, under the Railfolks watchful eye).  Before leaving the car your ticket was once more checked and any baggage ticket noted.  Now you stand perhaps in line waiting to claim that baggage.  Or simply file quickly off, having no baggage to claim. Small clusters of people stand about, but stand beyond the platforms boundary mark.  In the perpetual light breeze the scent of spices churn.  Music from a dozen sources can be heard.  Just beyond the platform several small and larger clusters of people can be seen.  Among these wander venders wearing boxes of nibbles.  While others carry about large jugs of refreshments aching to fill your empty cup.
Along the rail road are a dozen or more land ships.  Great wagons that display their flag and have been surrounded by a skirt of awnings.  All in bright colors.  More line the road to GlimmerDale.  Some are simply clans camped out in preparation for the coming holiday.  Others offer tables, welcoming travelers to enjoy their wears for some bit of coin or trade.  From the wines of GlimmerDale to a hearty cask of Bitter Dark.  Some have a roasting beast spinning about over their pits.  Food, more food and ample drink are the travelers welcome.   Along with that are textiles.  From fine woven cloths dyed in bright colors and overlaid with geometric embroideries.  Taylors offer up their service as you pass, ranging from the most useful stout gear to finery fit for the many upcoming holiday celebrations.  Leather works from baggage to placards can also be found.  Along with furs, one set back in a case of glass.  Blue white, a bear longer that you are tall from nose to tail.  Ceramic crafts from the bright blue emblazoned china of SeaReach to the more modest black clay work of the "up river" folk.  At another instrumentation can be found, from sighting glasses to compass and sextant.  Between these a number of small stalls and stages stand.  Holding on display a wide array of examples of goods.  Chests and small boxes awaiting a chance to keep your treasures safe can be found.  Along with other examples of carpentry and other crafting.  A music box stands open letting out its song as its statuette spins about in time.  A lamper offers up from simple lamps of practicality to the embossed enclosures with fine stained glass.  Another boosts herbs and other bits.  A closer look revealing books and cases meant for Magi scrolls.  In these representatives stand ready to guide you to the trade halls of GlimmerDale and perhaps even others farther away.
The holiday is still some days off, but why wait for some marking on a calendar to pass?  In the sky off in the distance a zeppelin hangs in the air, you may catch a glimpse of the Aeronauts at play.  If you have a sighting glass or sharper eyes than most.
