Government

Lord Aiden Cox rules fairly--in a socialist way. He is loved by his people, who his share lofty ambitions for the future of Pipemede. He has a small council of well-respected elders. Sheriff Judge Humbuck runs the militia, which serves as both law enforcement and military force.

Defences

A brand new stone wall is the pride of Lord Cox. Interestingly, the new wall depicts commemorative carvings of the The Heroes of Efria, who helped save the people of Pipemede from massive raids of Goblinoids on the 17th of Redfall, 1000AE. The lead mason of the project was Sidney Phillips.

Industry & Trade

Primarily known for their production of the finest smoking pipes in Efria, but a recent discovery of a secret fishing spot has yielded a notable export of fish.

Infrastructure

A traditional, small hamlet with a small town center. The Lord's modest stone keep is surrounded by its own set of stone walls, but the new town wall contains almost all residents. Most businesses have moved inside the walls, with the exception of some tobacco farmers. The townsfolk share a large communal vegetable garden.

The most notable building is the large Pipemede Smoke Factory, which includes a production floor, warehouse, and public smoke lounge. The Aurora Smokeshop & Lounge is run by a tattooed Desert Halfling named Zilbet, who has had a passion for smoking pipes his whole life.

History

This is a relatively new settlement, established by the House Cox of Eastrock. Sir Ian Cox, the grandfather of Lord Aiden, was knighted by the Duke of Eastrock after a successful campaign, and was awarded the landhex on which Pipemede is built.

Geography

Ian Road winds its way up to Pipemede. The hamlet sits on a small hill just a few dozen yards to the west of the woods. A trail goes north and comes to a Y: to the left is the trail to Lake Tower and to the right is a 1/2 mile trail to the small fishing docks.

Natural Resources

Unique, valuable pipe-making timber from nearby woods, fish from Lake Jolmek, and various animals for hunting in the surrounding areas. A small but high quality stone quarry in the woods to the east supplied the stone for the new town wall.
