Edwicia

Edwicia (pronounced ed-wi-SEE-uh) is an island nation. Originally a refuge for gypsies and voyagers seeking a new life and freedom from persecution and oppression, it has developed into a modern and self-sufficient society. However as wealth increased for some, class systems arose. Centuries past, and as with many countries, these social systems disappeared from the legalities of life. But personal prejudices still remain. The main rift being between those who live in the Oceanside regions, commonly called Coastals, and those who live on the mainland, known as Inlanders. The rural coastal regions still possess rigid and old fashion Edwcian values. The mainland, however, proggressively adapt to new ideas. This division in morals and values steadily reaches high tensions when the government begins to align with more mainland ideas. Eventually this leads to a Civil War that lasts for five years. The story begins one year after the war ends. The aftermath leaves most of the nation deprived of wealth and stability. However, there is an underlying hope among the people. Especially the youth. They want to see their country free from its prejudice, and are determined to restore it to a better place than it was before.
