Marush

The capital of Eritris, a melting pot of different mainlander cultures. It's first stones were laid in tandem with the triremes of Lycurgos landing on the northern beached. Primarily, the Great Temple of the Bold, the Academy, and Amphorium

Demographics

Around 3000 colonists from various city states of the mainland, with full citizenship, 5000 farmers, merchants, and other cradtsmen with limited citizenship, 3000 slaves of various types, and four thousand Philoi Xenos (Literally friend guest, a legal term applied to civilized folk, who aren't one of the Exoditai, Saĝ-gíg, Khemetians, Populae, etc.)
Most of these live in scattered villages spread out from the coast, in the "Sliced Grape, (which is strip of the coastline protected from the ashes by a set of steep hills, ideal for herding goats, which the colonist rely on greatly.) Demoi, People with voting rights, live in the city, which is lying semi-concentrically around the Acropolis.

Government

A Tyrannos, and his seven Strategoi lead the city, conjointly with an assembly of notable local families, Pistis, who are trusted with relaying the wishes of the citizen's assembly towards the council.
Much of the buerocratic system hangs upon the assembly of the Temples however, since most scribes come from any one of the temples, or the Academy itself.

Defences

The Bold's Breast: A half Cyclopean, half mason-wrought rampart surrounding the city, which was made by an unknown , alleged precursor people of the Exoditai, later reinforced by Lycurgos's companions.
Every citizen permitted to live aming the walls is required to maintain arms, and they are rotated in service, requiring one month of service for each individual at a time, this wayproviding the city with a garrison of around six hundred Phalangites. But military operations sometimes drain as much as half of the city's manpower. Providing a formidable fighting force of 3500 men. 1500 phalangites, 500 Peltasts, 500 Toxotes, and 500 Hippomachoi, though in the history of the city-state, there were only two instances of them going to battle.

Industry & Trade

Marush manufactures metric tons of pottery and ceramics, has two oil presses, a tannery, around two hundred black and whitesmiths, stables, a salt plant, a shipwright, wineries.

Infrastructure

Public order in the city is maintained by slaves in the service of the king. They provideprotection to public places, escorts to merchants for nominal fees, "impartial" judgement in low level civil disputes, and are employed as an improvised fire brigade. They are usually freed after twelve years of service, without any serious breaches of duty. Trading is widespread, with the free city of Adis Eblar, and with the Vekh, despite hostilities flaring up occasionally, and the road system is well maintained, if a bit limited, for that exact goal.
