The Lenmarede

The Lenmarede is half of the creation myth, as well as a chronicle of some of the journeys of Lenmare, and a document of all the gods spawned from Lenmare and how they came to be. It is the prime religious text of The Church of Lenmare, and most aspects of the worship of Lenmare have origins in this book.

Summary

At the beginning of time there was only the great abyss of nothingness. As time, which did not yet exist, passed the great nothingness began to grow bored of itself. There came a time when the nothingness decided to create two things. a drop of water and a lick of fire. The nothingness told the two forms that whoever could achieve godhood first would be given solid form. Then the nothing disappeared for there was something, though the space that was nothing remained. While the fire searched the nothing for something to grant godhood, the water simply sat down and told itself that ti was a God. The water quickly froze over and hardened and became a mass of rock and ice. It later named itself Lenmare, The Moon. The fire saw that the water had succeeded and asked how Lenmare did it, to which he responded with 2000 years of silence, followed by the word "Patience". Thus Senmare was created, irritated as she was made to wait so long, and had not gained solid form. With The Sun and The Moon both formed, the two decided to create something together to see what they were capable of. And thus the earth was born, and the space that was nothing died it's third and final death as it was filled further.   The first act of Lenmare was to bring time int existence, and thus as soon as he and senamre had formed all the ricks and the trees and the waters together, the first of the Greater Gods was born, and Wokutome came to be.     (Continue)
