The Divergence

The Divergence was an event when a war was waged between the gods causing the separation into the righteous Patheon and the corrupted Patheon.

The gods came to Edith hundreds of centuries from the time we now know and when they came they created humanity and the Beasts. Eventually, some of the gods believed that they had spent too much time on Edith and it was time to move on but others did not want to leave and say the races they had created as their children and did not want to abandon their children and this tension lead to war when Lolth the goddess of spiders and darkness attacked Kima the Goddes of the sun lead to the gods taking sides and a war raging on the grounds of Edith. The gods were historically split into two sides Righteous, and Corrupted. This war known as the divergence raged on for 100 years and shattered the land of Edith forming the different continents. Eventually, the Righteous gods won the war on the fractured Edith banishing the Corrupted deities to the outer planes but seeing the destruction and harm they caused the Righteous gods decided that it was not right of them to hold so much power over the mortals of Edith so they left to the celestial plane making an oath to never travel in flesh to the mortal realms again with fear of becoming a corrupted god and banished if their oath is ever broken.
