Edax Microcosm

"A world created by infamous "mad" scientist Rose Edax. The microcosmic technology is still far from being understood, Edax being the only known person to ever successfully compose a capable microcosm. Edax, wanted by the police in 34 countries, fled to her world and was never seen again. The outside world only has speculations and theories as to the microcosm's engineering, and has been stymied for over one hundred years. Edax is still missing." (BBC World News, December 2647)   The following is translated from the original Rawsku by Edax's coworker Daji Emmer, discovered only recently: "My beautiful world is almost complete. Using the volunteers from the Haschwit study, I have established a decent human population on the main continent of Kovta. The planet is 80% water, with two continents: Kovta and Emmer. To avoid the self-destructive behavior seen on Earth, I am inserting a small number of our failures from the Haschwit project into the population, approximately 11%. This will give the humans a dedication to survive, without destroying everything as they have on Earth. Ink and I will leave Earth permanently as soon as everything has been completed. We will succeed, I can feel it."   Finally, an interview with the translator Daji Emmer, who was also a close friend and coworker of Edax's (March 18, 2649): 'Miss Emmer, did you have any immediate thoughts while reading this document?' "Well, I don't know why she didn't tell me about any of this." 'She spoke about the Haschwit project multiple times, though as far as the public knows, the project was shut down in its earlier stages.' "That wasn't a question. To jump ahead, though, yes. The Haschwit project was shut down after the materials were realized to be unstable." 'Unstable?' "It was a high risk to continue, and could endanger many people's lives. So it was shut down. Perhaps Rose proceeded on her own, in secret. I don't know." 'What did she hope to accomplish?' "Doesn't the document state that? She wanted a world without the idiocy of this one. No rules, no society, nothing as boring as our lives are. A world where you have to fight to survive, as nature intended." 'You sound almost supportive of that motive.' "I am, honestly. If she had asked me, I would have gone. But I guess she wanted to... test it out first." 'Test?' "I don't know, okay? She probably just left me behind and never thought about me again. Who cares? I don't. I can survive fine on my own." 'Uh... okay... Moving on to the last question, what is this 'Ink' she mentioned?' "Her little brother, Ink. Of course she took him with her. Of *omitted* course.Take your brother but not the person who's been your lifelong best friend." 'I think we should wrap this up...' "*omitted* no! Rose, if you're watching this, I'm *omitted* coming for you! Be *omitted* ready! You think you can hide in your own *omitted* world, you're *omitted* wrong! I'm coming, Rose!
