Prayerbook to Coras
The Great Crafter does not demand elaborate rituals in His name nor can His favour be bought with costly sacrifices. Do not think the Lord of Iron can be bartered with. He respects only those who embody his virtues: diligence and zeal in labour and craft.
Rise with the sun and when possible, set with it as well. Observe the festivals of fire, for they honour the gift the Fire Shaper gave us. Celebrate the forging feasts and praise smiths as Coras' tools on this earth.
Try to live your live orderly, for Coras warns us of the dangers chaos brings. Plan for the future, so you will not go wanting in hard times. Take comfort in your place in the world, for it is the natural state of being. Be ambitious in your tasks but do not take pride, for all creation is made in the glory of Coras and is praise upon Him.
Be good to those who live their lives in service to others, for it is their labour on which we rely. Farmers, masons and artisans deserve our respect and kindness, for they work in the light of the Fire Shaper. Take pity on those who cannot labour, the elderly and infirm, for they cannot show their devotion to Coras.
Those who seek his blessing can ask for his blessing with these words:
"Blessed Coras, master of stone and iron. Guide my hand. Steel my resolve. Grant me the strength to perform my task. This I pray."
After a day's labour it is proper to thank Coras for His aid with praise. Customary prayers include:
"I honour you, Coras, Great Crafter. Witness my work in reference of you. Let this be my offer to you."
"Holy master of stone and iron. My labours are at an end. I pray for your blessing and approval."
"Fire Shaper, praise be unto you, for you granted me the bounties of this day. I pray for your favour in honour of my work."
Coras commands us to be mindful of our responsibilities. Curtail your ambition and find peace in your talents; harness them and hone your skills. Do not seek power for power's sake. Be careful with fire, for it can destroy men when not controlled. Remember the sins of Aluntar and always be cautious when confronted with new information.
Coras is strong. Coras is patient. To worship him is to respect effort above reward, labour above pay. There is no greater praise to Him than through honest toil and sweat on the brow. No matter how small the task, take pride in your work, for the greatest mountain is made up out of the tiniest specs of dust.
