Sharn the City of Towers

I've been here a week and it's still hard not to feel overwhelmed by the city. The towers rise up until they disappear into the clouds. Lights gleam in a thousand windows. Skycoaches work their way through the maze of bridges connecting the towers, and up above I can see the burning ring of an elemental airship.   -A newcomer to the big city

Demographics

about a third is human a sixth dwarf and the rest a mix of every race found in Khovaire. Gnomes, Elves and Halflings have an significant presence in the city. kalashter changelings and half-elfs have small communities in the city.

Government

City Council is in control of Sharn the poorest and the richest are represented but not equally.

Defences

The Sharn Watch is equipped to defend the city.

Infrastructure

Countless bridges connect the towers of sharn tiny ones but also entire streets. There are also may lifts for transporting goods and people up and down the different layers of the city. But neither of this will get you to skyway the highest part of sharn for that you will need a skycoach (elemental airship) the fasted why to travel in the city if you have coin to spare. In lower Tavick's landing the terminus station can be found here you can take the lighting rail to travel the continent.

All twelve dragonmarked houses have a significant presence in Sharn.

History

Sharn is build opon the foundation of ancient goblin ruins and the ruins of Old Sharn some of which still hold dangerous traps and valuable relics.

Architecture

Sharn consists of 5 districts with each 3 different levels: lower, Middle and upper. The higher the richer. Also there is a collecting of floating towers of the city called skyway and a forge district at the bottom of the city called the cogs.

Geography

Sharn is located on the shores of the dagger river which makes its port important for anyone that wants to travel to Sarlona or Xen'drik.
